These lacy socks feature a feminine pattern which appears complex but is easy to master. The pattern flows from the calf over the instep and then fades away into the toe. The pattern includes detailed instructions and lace charts. These socks are worked from the top down. The toe features side to side grafting which is the subject of a tutorial available on this website. My sample socks were worked in Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock Multi in the Poppy colorway.
These socks were inspired by the wild roses that grow as wildflowers around Yellowknife. We enjoyed an entire hedge of these wild roses along the front and side of our former property. They're absolutely gorgeous for the month of June each year. Both the stitch pattern and the color of the Lorna's Laces yarn used in my sample socks remind me of these roses. |
