Redtigerdesigns is the brand under which I design and distribute my original knitting patterns. It's named after a very special springer spaniel named Red Tiger Lily. She couldn't knit, but she was a sweet and faithful companion.
Now a little bit about me... My name is Cynthia, or Cindy, I really don't have a preference. I'm recently retired and enjoying newfound time to indulge both indoor and outdoor activities. I live in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada and I'm constantly inspired by the arctic wilderness that surrounds me. Knitting is my first passion, although I also enjoy many other crafts, including quilting, counted cross-stitch, weaving, pottery, and tole painting. I learned to knit at a very young age and, aside from some early guidance from my grandmother, am largely self-taught. |
Original Knitting Designs
My self-published knitting patterns are currently available through this website and through my Payhip, Ravelry and LoveCrafts shops. Select patterns are also available from Create2Thrive in the KCDesigns format ready for use with KnitCompanion.
My designs include socks, mittens, fingerless gloves, hats and headgear, scarves, ornaments and miscellaneous items. I strive for accuracy and clarity in all patterns and provide explanatory tutorials when appropriate.

Handmade Pottery
In addition to knitting and other textile arts, I also make pottery. As a studio potter at the Yellowknife Guild of Arts and Crafts, I spend as much time as possible experimenting with clay. Throwing and decorating are my primary interests, although I also dabble in handbuilding.
